Gaya, situated on the banks of the Phalgu River is a city of ancient historical and spiritual significance. Being the 2nd largest city of Bihar, it is one of the major tourist attractions of Bihar. About 14 km from Gaya town is Bodh Gaya, the place where Lord Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment. Before 500 years ago Lord Chaitanya visited Gaya to offer pind-daan to His father Jagannath Mishra.
